By Do-While, March 17th, 2010 in Misc | No Comments » | 805 views

No one will miss the opportunity to go to New York and visit one of the biggest and most powerful cities in the world. It’s true that New York is in America (i mean off course) but there are a lot of strangers and foreign people. Because of that we can call New York, “Biggest World Jungle” or “Big Apple” :). Enjoy in beautiful photos of old New York!

“The history of New York City begins with the Wappinger, a subdivision of the Algonquian speaking Lenape, who inhabited Manhattan prior to the arrival of Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1524, and continues with its founding as “New Amsterdam” by the Dutch in 1624 and the period of English rule and its renaming as “New York City” in 1664. The city was the location for multiple battles of the American Revolutionary War, and served as the capital of the United States until 1790. Modern New York city traces its development to the consolidation of the five boroughs in 1898 and an economic and building boom following the Great Depression and World War II. Throughout its history, New York City has served as a main port of entry for many immigrants, and its cultural and economic influences have made it one of the most important urban areas in the United States.”

Dramatic End of the Cliff House – Old Photos

By Do-While, March 15th, 2010 in Life | No Comments » | 187 views

Really sad story about great Cliff House that was like a miracle. History of Cliff House: “The first Cliff House was a modest structure built in 1863 by Senator John Buckley and C. C. Butler. Captain Junius Foster eventually leased the Cliff House Restaurant from C. C. Butler and under his management wealthy San Franciscans flocked to the coast to enjoy the unique restaurant and wonderful views. The guest register bore the names of three U.S. presidents as well as prominent San Francisco families such as the Hearsts, Stanfords, and Crockers, who would drive their carriages out to Ocean Beach for horse racing and recreation. The Cliff House had survived the 1906 earthquake with little damage but burned to the ground on the evening of September 7, 1907.”

The Google Maps Alphabet

By Do-While, March 11th, 2010 in Misc | No Comments » | 9,179 views

Google. The best and the most powerful company on the internet provided us to see everything on the planet with Google Maps. So we came to idea to create interesting Google Map Alphabet. Enjoy!

Google Maps (for a time named Google Local) is a basic web mapping service application and technology provided by Google, free (for non-commercial use), that powers many map-based services, including the Google Maps website, Google Ride Finder, Google Transit, and maps embedded on third-party websites via the Google Maps API. It offers street maps, a route planner for traveling by foot, car, or public transport and an urban business locator for numerous countries around the world. According to one of its creators (Lars Rasmussen), Google Maps is “a way of organizing the world’s information geographically”.
Google Maps uses the Mercator projection, so it cannot show areas around the poles. A related product is Google Earth, a stand-alone program for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, SymbianOS, iPhone OS, and Google’s own Android OS which offers more globe-viewing features, including showing polar areas.

Woman Terminator – Michelle Brent

By Do-While, March 10th, 2010 in Fun | No Comments » | 7,717 views

On one hand most of the girls try to look sexy and attractive, to be pretty, wanted, to have a lot of charm and to be stylish but on the other hand there are those girls that are interested in nothing more but their appearance. Many of them over do it. The best example of such a girl is “The Terminator girl” . Just take a look at that “breath-taking” figure and “well” sculptured body, that no man would miss out on. How anybody could think of such overmuscular body to be attractive, we may never know. But then again some people say that you shouldn’t judge a book by its covers. Which opinion you will take is up to you. One thing is clear “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”.

Unbelievably Realistic Sculptures – Adam Beane

By Do-While, March 9th, 2010 in Art | No Comments » | 1,651 views

Unbelievable art and sculptures that look like they are alive. Adam Beane is one of the best creators of sculptures. Enjoy in his work.

WEBSITE – Adam Beane

About himself: “Since beginning sculpting in 2002, I have been fortunate to work with some of the best companies in the industry on many high-profile projects. The excellent art directors I’ve worked with have been instrumental in my growth as a sculptor, a communicator and a businessman. They have frequently allowed me to push projects beyond expectations and as a result, I have become known for dynamic compositions, action poses, nuanced drapery work and my ability to capture likenesses with expressions. I now sculpt exclusively in CX5, a tremendously versatile material I developed which handles like clay when warm but is hard as plastic when cool. All the work on this site is commercial, that is, commissioned by a company as a “master sculpture” from which multiples are made for market. I am available for presentations, lectures and workshops.”

When you first take a look at these photographs, you would most probably not realize what’s in them, and at a first glance they would appear to be totally ordinary. However, you would be mistaken as all of these photos are made of thousands and thousands of people. Many of them were made by US soldiers who made an effort to make every photo look as clear as possible. Some of these photos might remind you of the screen resolution that was visible on the old computers. Therefore the title of this article is Pixel People. You may try to make some of these figures and you will probably realize that it is not an easy thing to do.

By Do-While, March 6th, 2010 in Life | No Comments » | 4,011 views

“The Blue Lagoon (Icelandic: “Bláa lónið”) geothermal spa is one of the most visited attractions in Iceland. The steamy waters are part of a lava formation. The warm waters are rich in minerals like silica and sulfur and bathing in the Blue Lagoon is reputed to help some people suffering from skin diseases such as psoriasis. The water temperature in the bathing and swimming area of the lagoon averages 40°C (104°F).” – wiki.
After reading this i have such a huge wish to go there and feel the magic. Just imagine yourself in the water while it’s low temperature and it’s freezing outside, and you are like in hot heaven. For now i am satisfied with these photos, next year maybe i will visit “The Blue Lagoon”. Enjoy!
