Wtf Photos From Old Times

Misc / October 28, 2009 / View Comments

Great collection of WTF photos from old times. All of them are a litlle bit strange (it’s so weird that they could create such a cool photos that we now like) and in black and white colors (or gray). It’s hard to believe that people had a sense of humor and a dose of craziness and creativity in that age.

I'm really scared with some of those photos ! WEIRD !
  • This is very cool. I think the most WTF element of the page though is this sentence: "It’s hard to believe that people had a sense of humor and a dose of craziness and creativity in that age."

    I hope you're joking.

My favorite one is of the guy who looks like he's going to step into the hole, but fools everyone at the last minute. A lot of older pictures always seem to be more serious, and never "fun" but that guy seems to be having a blast and I love it!

The first picture is from the Tod Browning's 1932 film Freaks and that may be Browning at the top in the middle. The film had actual 'sideshow freaks' and they're the ones featured. I listened to the commentary and it though it wasn't intended a lot of the sideshow actors were embarassed that they were in the film. The movie was actually interesting and I would recommend it if you like what you see.

    You are sick. Love ya.

fantastic. Just when I thought I'd seen it all....
  • Classic photos. Some of them rather disturbing. hahaha.. amazing..
  • I love this old school photo.

the picture of the girl sitting next to her doll.
thats a fake. its not that old. i'm pretty sure it's from interview with a vampire
cause it looks like a young kirsten dunst.
and lestat would always buy her look alike dolls, cause she was like ther little doll
  • j
    it's not kirsten dunst.

here's kirsten in that role: http://www.freewebs.com/rock_n_literature/claudia.jpg
  • HoodooWoman
Is that girl with the doll kirsten dunst?
  • sweet
it looks like her yea, when she acted in interview with a vampire as claudia the vamp child, and plus she always had those freakish dolls with her so it may well be her
  • P.
Disturbing. Especially if these are not photoshopped!
  • Rianna
The first picture is the cast of the old movie "Freaks", it is a good movie if you ever have the time.
  • I enjoy looking at old photos. A fav past time. Neat photo display.
  • Fern Porras
The photo of the three women, two standing and one sitting, was probably taken after the woman sitting was deceased. This was quite common in Victorian times, since photography was relatively expensive, and people normally only had a few photos of their loved ones. When someone passed away, and you didn't have a recent photo of them, you could call a photographer who would come to your home, and help you pose your deceased loved one for a final picture. (Notice her hands are clenched in an unnatural way.)
