A Woman or a Man?
Norrie May-Welby was born in Scotland as a male. When he turned 7 years old, he moved to Australia. In 1989 he decided to change his gender and underwent male-to-female surgery. But it was too difficult to be a woman, so later Norrie stopped taking hormones. And in 2010 doctors stated that male-female became a person with ‘non-specified’ gender and with no sex organs.
May-Welby’s passport stated his gender as not specified for a while until the Australian authorities decided that it was wrong to give out such documents. May-Welby has filed a complaint with the Australian Human Rights Commission in return and claimed to the media to be “devastated with the news.”
