These hotels were made from strange things. All kinds of different materials were used in building these unusual hotels. It is a creative way to be unique and attract more guests. See how weird these hotels are.
1. Card Keys

This hotel is considered to be the biggest house of cards. It was built from 200,000 card keys. Everything is made from card keys including walls and toilets. It was built by Bryan Berg.
2. Containers

The incredible five star Xiang Xiang Xiang Pray House hotel is entirely build out of shipping containers. However, each room is fitted with traditional Chinese furniture. The container hotels can be made in one city and shipped off to another. Neat, ha?
3. Chocolate


Hansel und Gretel might have been in a house like this. But this hotel will exceed all your expectations. Karl Lagerfeld has designed this hotel which is entirely made of chocolate. So if you have a sweet tooth then this is the place for you. The Magnum Chocolate Hotel Suite was made from 10.5 tones of chocolate. It has a chocolate sculpture of French male model, Karl’s muse, Baptise Giabiconi.
4. Clay/reed/wood/shell stone

The Friend Hotel is located Orel’s riverbank. That is 18 miles away from the city of Dnepropertrovsk in the Ukraine. The materials used are all eco-friendly.
5. Tubes

T3arc designed the Tubo hotel. A queen-size bed with panoramic views of the Sierra del Tepozteco, Mexico is the perdect place to relax.
6. Railway

Controversy Inn was built out of four recycled train carriages. This wonderful hotel is located at Farm in Hoogwoud, the Netherlands.
7. Sand

This hotel will take you back to your childhood. This unique hotel is locates in Weymouth beach in Dorset, UK. For $21 (£10) you can sleep under the blue sky. It is the only hotel in the world made entirely of sand.
8. Salt

The Salt Palace is built from blocks of salt. It is located on the brim of the Salar de Uyuni. If you need more salt for in your dish all you need to do is scratch the walls.
